Race 1 (2:10pm) KASAKH NOIR
Two career wins came early on in his career and he has struggled to replicate that form since. However, a second last time out at Navan (2m, yielding) saw a large improvement nine days ago, finishing 2.25 lengths behind Cousin Harry, with cheekpieces reapplied. Brian Hughes rides today and will be in with a strong shout, if able to continue on from that last run.
Race 2 (2:40pm) MAASAI WARRIOR
Paul Henderson’s charge was an eleven race maiden, with little to shout about in those runs, but that changed in latest, when taking the spoils at Chepstow (2m 3f, good to soft) ten days ago, when 1.25 lengths clear of Gorcombe’s Rascal. He was around 5lbs out of the handicap that day, so a 7lbs penalty looks well within his grasp, with a double very much on the cards.
Race 3 (3:10pm) AHOY SENOR
Impressive start to career so far, placing second on debut at Ayr (2m, heavy), when 5.5 lengths adrift of Fortescue Wood, before the extended 2m 4f trip clearly suited in latest, when taking the spoils, also at Ayr, beating Gold Cup Bailly by 4 lengths. The pair were some 15 lengths clear of the rest in that contest and that sort of form is likely to see them being the one to beat.
Race 4 (3:40pm) BAVINGTON BOB
Solid performances here and there in opening six career starts, before stepping up and taking a maiden win last time out at Carlisle (2m 3f, soft), when 1.5 lengths clear of Shanroe Tic Tec. Rise of 4lbs should be well within his grasp and goes in as clear market favourite and the one to beat.
Race 5 (4:10pm) GOLAN CLOUD
Bagged a maiden win at Kelso (2m 4f, heavy) this time last year, when a comfortable 8 lengths clear of second. Has looked solid since seasonal return, placing second and third at this venue (2m 4f – 2m 7f) and can continue to improve here. Minor issue with three month break, but capable of taking the spoils.
Race 6 (4:45pm) CUDGEL
Three time hurdle winner, who looked to be back on track over fences, when finishing third over C&D thirteen days ago, just a length and a half off the winner. Rises just 1lb today and looks to be one of three runners firmly in the mix for the spoils, alongside Prince Dundee and Real Armani
