Race 1 (12:30pm) FAIVOIR
Five wins in nine starts for this Dan Skelton runner, with a double sealed in his penultimate start at Haydock (1m 7f, heavy) in the Grade 2 Rossington, beating Minella Drama by a neck in January. He finished third behind subsequent Cheltenham Festival winner, The Shunter last time out at Kelso and looks very difficult to beat, in this three runner field.
Race 2 (1:00pm) MASTERS LEGACY
Strong start to his career with two wins in four starts for Philip Hobbs. The latest of those coming back in January of 2020. Made a return after thirteen months away, with a fourth at Taunton last month in a Class 2 contest, on handicap debut, finishing 18 lengths back. Will no doubt be fresher for that run, with the rust removed and looks set to build upon that here in a lower level contest.
Race 3 (1:30pm) CORRANY
Corrany picked up a first victory last time out, after solid place performances prior. That win came at Huntingdon (2m 7f, good to soft) nineteen days ago, when 3.25 lengths clear of Supremely Lucky as cheekpieces seem to be helping hugely. Unsurprisingly his mark has risen dramatically, but he is a horse clearly on the up in terms of form and looks the one to beat this afternoon.
Race 4 (2:05pm) HOWLING MILAN
Only victory came in his third career run back in January 2019, here over 2m. Has significantly stepped up in trip since and despite a lack of victories, the second in his previous start but one, over C&D, did garner a second place finish, behind Polish. Backed in well on the markets this morning and has a strong chance in this very competitive contest.
Race 5 (2:40pm) SAINT DE REVE
Failed to finish in first two starts of the season, being pulled-up and unseating his rider, but went close at Wincanton (2m 4f, good) last time out, when 3.75 lengths behind Paddy’s Poem, when wearing a tongue-strap. Looks likely to improve further with a full run under his belt and will be one of the main contenders for the victory
Race 6 (3:15pm) COEUR SEREIN
After four places in six starts, Jonjo O’Neill’s charge finally picked up a maiden win last time out, when taking the spoils at Warwick (2m 5f, soft), finishing 6 lengths clear of Craic Magic some twelve days ago. Up in trip to 3m, which looks within his abilities and runs prior to tomorrow’s 10lbs rise. Major contender here.
