Race 1 (1:15pm) SECRET STRENGTH
He has looked very promising for Richard Hannon, picking up a victory in his penultimate start at Musselburgh (5f, good) three weeks ago, beating odds on favourite Boonie by a neck. Unsurprisingly outclassed in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last time out, but this looks much more within his scope. Strong opportunity to add to his solid record.
Race 2 (1:45pm) EJTILAAB
Picked up a third career win in the Cazoo Handicap at Epsom (6f, good to soft) three weeks ago, finishing a neck ahead of Muscika. 4lbs higher today and should be just as effective on the all-weather, as he is on turf.
Race 3 [2:20pm) DILIGENT HARRY
Three wins in four career starts, including last time out at Lingfield in a Class 2 contest, beating Mighty Gurkha by 2 lengths, at the All-weather championships. Takes on this Grup 3 contest with more to come and has weight from his elders here to boost his chances even more.
Race 4 (2:55pm) BELLATRIXSA
Sealed a double in her penultimate start, when 1.25 lengths clear of In Our Dreams at Ludlow (2m 5f, good to soft) last month over hurdles. That was followed by a second at Warwick, with The Wrekin just too strong that day. Lightly raced and has more to come on return to the flat.
Race 5 (3:30pm) TRUESHAN
SIx wins in eleven starts, including the Group 2 Long Distance Cup at Ascot (1m 7f, soft) back in October, when 7.5 lengths clear of Search For A Song. Returned to action last month, when second to Japan in a Group 3 at Chester and was a non-runner in the Gold Cup at Ascot last week. Returns to handicaps today and Rhys Clutterbuck’s 5lbs claim will also make a huge difference.
Race 6 (4:05pm) SECOND SLIP
Novice winner at Salisbury last September, who has blown hot and cold since. Grabbed a third at Newcastle (1m 2f, a/w), when 0.75 lengths adrift of the winner in April, but needs to show more consistency. Solid hopes and still relatively unexposed.
