Showcasing colt out of Exrating, costing 180,000gns as a yearling. First foal of an unraced half-sister to Group 2 winner, Pearl Secret. Plenty of support for Richard Hannon’s charge here and he is expected to go very well on debut today.
Race 2 (1:50pm) PETER THE GREAT
Both career wins have come at this venue. Was a winner on debut over 1m 3f (good to firm), when a length clear of Southern Voyage. Then, after a second at Newcastle, he returned to Newmarket (1m 2f, good to soft) three weeks ago and justified odds on status, with a 2.5 length win, ahead of Alhammaam. Makes handicap debut this afternoon off a good mark, with big chances.
Race 3 [2:25pm) SANDRINE
Two wins from two starts and followed a Class 5, debut win at Kempton (6f a/w) in May, with a superb victory in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot three weeks ago, when 1.5 lengths clear of Hello You. The pair do battle once more, along with Flotus, but Andrew Balding’s charge should have the advantage.
Race 4 3:00pm) **(LIVE YOUR DREAM**
Three wins and two places in six starts, with the latest of those coming at Wolverhampton (2m, a/w), when a comfortable 6.5 lengths ahead of Margaret Dumont and a further 10 lengths clear of the rest, having jumped from 1m 4f, to 2m. Rise of 10lbs looks harsh, but he is still relatively unexposed as a stayer and has strong chances here.
Race 5 (3:35pm) ALCOHOL FREE
A strong record of four victories, from six starts for Andrew Balding’s charge, winning the Cheveley Stakes here, over 1m back in September and most recently, the Group 1 – Coronations Stakes at Royal Ascot (7f, heavy), when beating race rivals, Snow Lantern by 1.5 lengths, with Mother Earth just behind. The trio resume hostilities today and Alcohol Free could well repeat that result today in another competitive contest
Race 6 (4:10pm) INVEIGLE
Six race career so far, but the two victories had so far have come in the last four runs, with the latest at Yarmouth (7f, good), when 2.5 lengths clear of Imperial Yellow, having come from the back of the field. Rises 6lbs today, but that performance impressed and we could see further improvement. Strong chances in another competitive contest.
