Race 1 (1:15pm) AZAHEER

One of a number of debutants in this contest, with this team Gosden runner, looking Dubawi filly, out of Aneen. Dam was a winning 2-yo over 7f and half sister to Irish 2000 Guinea winner, Awtaad. Profile offers plenty of encouragement, while the Gosden yard have been in good form this season too. Strong claims here.

Race 2 (1:50pm) GUILDED

Karl Burke trained runner, who picked up a maiden victory at the sixth time of asking, when taking the spoils at Beverley sixteen days ago and easing to a 5 length victory, ahead of Dreams Of Thunder. Found it tougher going, when stepping up massively in class, for the Group 1 – Cheveley Park Stakes, and just 4.75 lengths back from the winner. A drop back to this Group 3 contest should help and is expected to feature amongst the leaders.

Race 3 (2:25pm) GOOD AMERICAN

Ralph Beckett’s runner got off to the perfect start, with victory on debut at Salisbury (6f, good to firm), beating Aunt Bethany by a length, when leading from the front and staying on strongly. The booking of Frankie Dettori only adds to her chances here and she is expected to be right up there, in the closing stages.

Race 4 (3:00pm) CHINDIT

Three wins in seven starts for this Richard Hannon runner, although they all came in the opening three starts, including the Group 2 – Champagne Stakes at Doncaster (7f, good) a year ago. He has found it tough at the top end of the sport, but looked good when fourth of nine in the Group 2 – Celebration Mile at Goodwood (1m, good to firm), when just 2 lengths behind Lavender’s Blue. A similar performance here should garner a better result and he looks to be showing improvement once again

Race 5 (3:35pm) INSPIRAL

Goes in as odds on favourite and quite literally looks to only logical selection, with an open contest for the places, if this team Gosden runner goes as expected. She has won all three races, including the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) last time, when 3.75 lengths clear of Prosperous Voyage. Anything less than victory would be a surprise, let alone somehow falling out of the place positions.

Race 6 (4:10pm) BOLTAWAY

Four wins in eight, including treble over the Summer. Roger Charlton’s charge picked up another win last time out, when beating Lexington Knight by 2.75 lengths at Newmarket (1m 4f, good) a fortnight ago. Probably needs to show more this time around, with a 6lbs penalty, but still unexposed and capable of more.
