Race 1 (1:38pm) DOYEN QUEEN

Six race maiden, who picked up a career best fourth, last time out at Fontwell (2m 3f, good to soft), just nineteen days ago, albeit 23 lengths adrift. She clearly needed the run there and this extension to 3m 2f looks far more to her liking as well. Stripping that bit fitter than the rest will be a massive boon for Paul Henderson’s charge here and she should feature at the business end of this contest.

Race 2 (2:13pm) INVESTMENT MANAGER

This Colin Tizzard runner is a five race maiden, who showed glimpses of ability last season, before ending with a flourish at Exeter (2m 2f, soft) back in February, when 11 lengths adrift of runaway winner, Striking A Pose. Enjoys the soft conditions and looks set to have a chance off the back of a decent handicap mark here.

Race 3 (2:48pm) HALO DES OBEAUX

Useful performer in France and took the spoils in his last run over there, winning a fifteen runner juvenile hurdle at Auteuil (2m 1f, soft). Made UK bow for Paul Nicholls at Worcester (2m, good to soft) thirteen days ago, when 3.5 lengths behind odds on winner, I Like To Move It. Plenty more to come form this 4-yo and once again should feature strongly here.

Race 4 (3:23pm) ORRISDALE

Jonjo O’Neill’s charge got off to a cracking start with two wins in the opening three runs at the beginning of last season, including at Uttoxeter (2m 3f, heavy) in a Class 5 contest. Despite failing to add to that, this talented 7-yo has been the height of consistency, with a run of 4233 in runs last season, ending with a third last time out at Stratford (2m 6f, soft) back in March. He is expected to be in the hunt for the spoils, assuming he is tuned up and ready for action.

Race 5 (3:58pm) ALRAMZ

Only career victory in twenty-three starts, came here at Newton Abbot (2m 2f, soft) back in June, when 4.25 lengths clear of Richie Valentine., who opposes again here. After a couple of lesser runs, he placed second last time out at Stratford (2m 2f, good) last Saturday, narrowly losing out by a head to Kilchreest Moon and in that basis is expected to go well again, providing the quick turnaround isn’t a problem.

Race 6 (4:30pm) ARC OF BUBBLES

Only has one place to his name, when placing second at Fontwell (2m 5f, good to firm) back in May. However, he has performed well in the latest runs, both at Newton Abbot (3m 1f), including the latest, when second of four runner on good ground, missing out by a head to surprise winner, Sister Raphael (40/1), with 1/12 favourite Eglantine Du Seuil some 8 lengths adrift. Drops a 1lbs on his return to handicapping and looks to be a big contender for the spoils.
