Race 1 (1:50pm) BONITA B
Four race maiden, who has steadily improved over that period, culminating in a third at Brighton (5f, good to firm) last month, just 1.5 lengths adrift of the winner. Makes handicap debut today and looks to be on a decent mark for this contest.
Race 2 (2:25pm) EPIDEMIC
Two wins from three starts, since switching to George Boughey’ yard, including last time out at Leicester (1m 2f, good to firm), when beating Missile by a head. Comes in as bottom weight against elder horses here, but on current form, should be the big threat here. Every chance and backed in well too.
Race 3 [3:00pm) WALIYAK
Two wins and five places in nine starts, with the last of the victories coming at Lingfield (1m 2f, good) back in September, when 4/25 lengths clear of Folk Dance. Returned to action from a nine month break, when third at Royal Ascot last month, when a length adrift of the winner, Lola Showgirl. Solid RPR’s, more to come and looks the one to beat in this contest
Race 4 (3:35pm) HEY JONESY
Last of two career wins came thirteen months ago at Royal Ascot (6f, good), in the Wokingham Stakes. He hasn’t made much headway since, but a third at Chester (7f, good to soft) at the end of May, showed signs of a return to better form, finishing 1.75 lengths behind winner, Boardman. Chances in this less competitive contest, while Oisin McSweeney’s 7lbs claim, will also offer further encouragement.
Race 5 (4:10pm) DELGREY BOY
Grabbed a maiden win at the sixth attempt in May, when 2.75 lengths clear of Musahaba at Thirsk (7f, good to firm). Has placed in the last four trips, with the latest over C&D (good), eight days ago, when unable to justify favouritism and finishing 0,75 lengths behind the victor. Strong favourite here and expected to be at a higher mark in the future.
Race 6 (4:45pm) WAHRAAN
Showed a marked improvement after a couple of runs, when second at Windsor (1m 2f, good), back in April, before repeating the feat at Salisbury (1m 1f, soft), when failing to justify favouritism and finishing half a length behind Lord Protector. Looks the clear leader of this field on form and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them grab a maiden win here.
