Race 1 (1:15pm) MOKAATIL
Winner at Chelmsford (5f, a/w) back in March, but struggled to maintain that form, until bouncing back at Epsom last month, when 1.5 lengths clear of Only Spoofing at 25/1. 6lbs rise requires more from him this time around, but capable of at least repeating the recent form to be in the mix.
Race 2 (1:50pm) ARECIBO
Has two wins in four appearances, since joining Robert Cowell’s yard, grabbing a second win at Newmarket (5f, soft) back in May, when 2.25 lengths clear of Ishvara. A second in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot (5f, good to firm), saw them 1.75 lengths behind Oxted in an impressive run and has strong claims, if able to repeat that sort of form today.
Race 3 [2:25pm) PYTHAGORAS
Has a trio of victories in eight career starts so far, with the last of those amongst listed company at Pontefract (1m 6f, soft) back in October, beating Mystery Angel by a neck. Has struggled in tougher contests this season, including a sixth in the Dante at York, but it’s hoped a drop back to today’s mile trip, reinvigorates that form
Race 4 (3:00pm) STATEMENT
Maiden win came at the third time of asking at Newbury (6f, heavy) back in October, when 2 lengths clear of Nowwhentorun. Struggled to an eighth in the 1,000 Guineas, before placing third in the Group 3 – Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom (1m, good to soft). Has a huge opportunity here and will no doubt feature.
Race 5 (3:35pm) MISHRIFF
Has won six of ten starts, including the French Derby last season and more recently the Dubai Sheema Classic at Meydan (1m 4f, good) back in March, when beating Chrono Genesis by a neck. The Gosdens have won this race in four of the last nine years and Mishriff could add to that list, although St Mark’s Basilica is the main threat here.
Race 6 (4:10pm) DREAM WITH ME
Sealed a double in the penultimate start at Ayr (1m 2f, good) in May, when 2.5 lengths ahead of Anythingtoday. Stepped up a couple of levels for the Class 2 – Cazoo Handicap at Epsom (1m 2f, good to soft), but found it a tough task thanks to a strong pace, placing seventh. Frankie Dettori is booked today and this colt can improve on that last run.
