Race 1 (1:40pm) MY FRANKEL

Three wins in five starts for Sir Michael Stoutes runner, including a win at Kempton (1m 3f, a/w) last time out, when beating Taqareer by 1.25 lengths a month ago. Has won on good to firm ground, but unproven on soft, yet should be very much in the picture, as they head for home.

Race 2 (2:10pm) GULLIVER

Eight wins and thirteen places in fifty-seven career starts for this 7-yo, with the last of those victories coming over C&D (6f, soft) back in October. Had struggled recently with all-weather runs, but is expected to shine once again, now back on turf. Strong chances.

Race 3 (2:40pm) OXTED

Sealed a treble last Summer, when winning the Group 1 – July Cup at Newmarket (6f, good), when beating Sceptical by 1.25 lengths. Has not been as prolific since, having placed fifth at Ascot on soft ground, prior to a trip to Saudi Arabia, while on return to the UK, placed second to Summerghand in the Abernant Stakes at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) last month. Difficult to ascertain exactly where Roger Teal’s charge is in terms of genuine form, but this looks a golden opportunity to put any doubts behind him, once and for all.

Race 4 (3:10pm) NOON STAR

Debut third back in September, but has since won both races, including the latest last month at Wetherby, when justifying odds on status, via a 2.5 length win, ahead of Loving Dream. That form has been enhanced by the fourth in that race, Sherbet Lemon, winning an Oaks trial at the weekend. She is in strong form and this Galileo filly out of Midway can continue that today.

Race 5 (3:40pm) NORTHERN EXPRESS

Winner on debut at Beverley (7f, soft) last August and followed with a creditable second at Ayr a month later. Returned to action last month, with a third at Beverley (7f, good to firm), which puts him in the mix, while a lack of exposure so far, offers hope of further improvement this afternoon. Big player in this contest.

Race 6 (4:15pm) JUNGLE BEE

Showed good pace, before fading on debut run at Thirsk (5f, good to firm) eleven days ago, finishing 2.25 lengths behind winner, Hotline Bling. Tim Easterby’s 2-yo’s tend to come on leaps and bounds off the back of a first run, so a lot more expected this afternoon and could be one to make the headlines here.
