The 2017 U.S.Masters begins on the 6th April at the famous Augusta National Golf Club, as the top players in the world bid for the year’s first Major.
Last year Danny Willett won the coveted Green Jacket, but who will be wearing it in 2017? Here we take a look at next week’s event and the players to look out for come Sunday evening.

OUTRIGHT
Bookmakers see the 2017 U.S. Masters as a three man battle between Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy, with the rest some 16/1 bar.
Dustin Johnson (11/2 Fav) looks to be peaking at the right time, with the world number one in blistering form, having won his last three events and finishing in the top six in seven of the last eight events played.
Jordan Spieth (7/1) will be looking to add a second green jacket to his collection and has an enviable record at Augusta, finishing 2nd,1st,2nd in the last three years. Spieth has really improved his ball striking, which has seen a huge twelve percent increase in Greens In Regulation over last season, something that is massively important on the undulating Augusta course.
I am going to leave Rory McIlroy out of the equation, as there are still doubts over the Irishman’s rib injury from January. He has played well in recent weeks but 15/2 looks a little short for a player whose Augusta preparations have not been ideal.
It really is a tough call to pick a winner between Johnson and Spieth but I’m gonna go for the man in form, Dustin Johnson.

EACH-WAY CONTENDERS
Outside the main favourites, Hideki Matsuyama (18/1) is starting to fulfill his potential, having won three tournaments and finishing runner-up twice over the last six months. Matsuyama‘s one weakness was his driving, but with that massively improved, he could well surprise, although 18/1 may be a little on the short side for the Japanese golfer.
Further down the order, two relatively new faces fill my last two choices. First up is American, Justin Thomas (35/1). Thomas started to show his talents towards the latter stages of last season and now really looks the part in 2017, winning his first two events of the year. He has stumbled a little in recent weeks, but if he can get to the weekend, he looks a player who can challenge for a top ten finish.
Lastly, Tyrrell Hatton (50/1) looks a great outside bet, as the Englishman storms up the rankings. Consistency is key for Hatton, who has finished in the top ten on five of his six starts so far this season. It may be too early to talk about titles, but his meteoric rise up the rankings, makes him an excellent each-way pick.
