1:30pm Doncaster (5 Places) Air Raid – 18/1
Looking to get back to showing his potential, having had training issues over the course of the last year, however this decent sprinter, put in a strong performance at Haydock (6f, heavy), to beat Lincoln Park by a nose and thus offering some hope for trainer, Jedd O’Keeffe. Steps up from that Class 3 contest to a listed race this afternoon, which may be a little premature, but if he can finally start to show his true class, he can at least be in the fight for places..
3:15pm Doncaster (5 Places) Eagle Court – 11/1
Winner in three of his six career starts so far, including successive wins in latest at Redcar (1m 2f, soft) in September and over the same 1m 2f at Nottingham (soft) a month ago, when beating Snow Ocean by a length. Step up from Class 4 to today’s Class 2 contest, along with the extended 1m 4f trip and a 5lbs rise all add combine to make this a very tough test, but capable of more and could surprise.
3:35pm Wincanton (5 Places) Cobra De Mai – 16/1
Not in the most spectacular of form across the last year, but did finish sixth in the Ultimata, at the Cheltenham Festival (3m 1f, soft) in March, 8.5 lengths behind the winner, in The Conditional. Returned to seasonal ation with a seventh at Fontwell (2m 5f, soft), before really disappointing at Cheltenham, a fortnight ago, when pulled-up, despite initially trying to put some pressure on Frodon. Wears blinkers today, while trip and conditions arguably suit too, with a better performance to come hopefully. Good price, with five places available.
