1:35pm Warwick (4 Places) Karakoram – 11/1
One and only victory, came twelve months ago, at Ludlow (1m 7f, good) in a Class 4 handicap hurdle. Picked up some solid place results, including in a Class 3 at Newton Abbot (2m, good) back in September, but form has stumbled recently. Cheek-pieces fitted to help improve off the back of two poor runs, since that Newton Abbot race and is clearly capable of more. Solid price for an each-way bet.
5:30pm Newcastle (4 Places) Mount Mogan – 9/1
One career win in ten starts and while form has fluctuated, he does have the ability. Finished second recently at Kempton (6f, a/w) in August, before a fourth in a Class 3 at Ascot (5f, good) the following month, when just 1.5 lengths behind the winner. That one career win came on today’s Tapeta surface and he looks an interesting proposition for each-way claims, now dropping down a level.
7:00pm Newcastle (4 Places) KHAZAF – 10/1
Inconsistency remains the key issue, for this twelve race maiden, however he has looked promising in his last two runs, when second over C&D , three weeks ago, finishing 1.75 lengths behind the winner, before following up a week ago, with a fifth, once again over C&D, finishing 2.25 lengths adrift this time around. Drop back to 7f could well suit here, while a drop of 3lbs will only add to his chances.
