2:05pm – VAL DE TRAVERS
Has been in fine form since switching to Mick Appleby’s yard, picking up three wins in five starts for this new home, including the latest at Musselburgh (5f, good), when dominating the contest and beating Sound of Iona by 2.75 lengths in an impressive display. This is a race for jump jockeys of course and Tom Scudamore rides this afternoon. Strong claims and can justify favouritism here.
Today’s Racecards
2:40pm – SILVER SAMURAI
Secured a double back in May, when following up a Class 2 victory at Newbury (6f, good), with a win at Haydock (6f, good) in a Class 3 contest, beating Music Society by a length. He picked up a creditable eleventh of twenty-six in the Wokingham Stakes last time out at Ascot, despite a tough draw and Marco Botti’s charge can build upon recent form here, in what looks to be a relatively competitive contest overall.
3:50pm – FLORIDA FILLY
This Iain Jardine runner has really found form over the last couple of starts, winning two in a row at Hamilton (5f, good to firm), firstly by 0.75 lengths to Sparkling Red last month, before beating Miss Brazen by 2.25 lengths in a novices contest, a fortnight ago. This is a stronger contest, but arguably more to come, especially now extended to 6f here.
