Brian Hughes is booked for four rides at Market Rasen on Saturday, following a three-winner afternoon at Perth on Thursday. The northern champion’s winners came in at 11/2, 5/1 and 8/1, providing great value for his backers too.
Hughes rode Datstheholyallofit, Elemental Eye and Upfordebate to victory at Perth on 24 September. His Market Rasen engagements begin with Blue To Blue in the Market Rasen Racecourse Caravan Site Juvenile Hurdle at 3.05pm.
Opening ride is Blue To Blue
Blue To Blue makes a first start over hurdles for Ruth Jefferson in the juvenile contest. The three-year-old has previously raced on the Flat, most recently at Haydock earlier this month, though he slightly lost his way on the level this season. He faces two horses who have already won over hurdles, but the Blue Point gelding does have the benefit of some previous class on the flat.
Jet To Vegas returns over fences
Hughes rides Jet To Vegas for Lucinda Russell and Michael Scudamore in the Summer Plate Ladies Day 2027 On Sale Handicap Chase at 3.50pm. The seven-year-old returns after a pulled-up run in a Listed novice handicap chase at Punchestown in May. Hughes has ridden him previously, including in the Morebattle Hurdle at Kelso in February.
Jet To Vegas is yet to score over fences, but has twice been second. A Grade 2-winning novice hurdler, he is likely to get the hang of the bigger obstacles at some stage for a yard who excel with chasers.
Indian River and Annie Don complete the book
Hughes then concludes his day with rides in the final two races at Market Rasen on the day.
Indian River is Hughes’ mount in the Block Free Services Lincoln Handicap Hurdle at 5.30pm. Adrian Paul Keatley’s four-year-old won his first three starts over hurdles last winter, including juvenile contests at Catterick and Wetherby, before finishing third in the Grade 1 Anniversary Juvenile Hurdle at Aintree in April. He now steps up against his elders for the first time to try and frank last season’s juvenile hurdling form.
Hughes’ final ride is Annie Don for Henry Oliver in the Agriculture Raceday Returns On 12th November Handicap Hurdle at 6.00pm. The seven-year-old has not run since unseating at Catterick in December. Henry Oliver’s mare steps up in distance for this race to try and improve on her modest efforts to date.

Saturday’s card is currently shown as good, with watering reported. The course has also reported rail movements for each of the races involving Hughes.
