Champion Bumper Entries 2024: Top class field set to assemble for Cheltenham Flat showpiece

It’s one of the most fascinating races at the Cheltenham Festival, as new stars emerge from the wilderness to etch their name in National Hunt folklore in the Champion Bumper, which is the sole National Hunt Flat race at the meeting.

The 37 entries have been released for the 2024 Champion Bumper and it’s set to be a hugely competitive renewal with the 12-times winner Willie Mullins set to unleash his next battalion of stars with Maughreen and Jasmin De Vaux just two of the star names in the entry list.

Both have excelled so far on the track this campaign and have huge potential, but this is always a race that sees a whole plethora of improving youngsters take their chance and Gordon Elliott’s Jalon D’Oudairies is another exciting talent that has been impressive so far on the track and could be a notable rival to the Mullins team.

Paul Nicholls is yet to taste victory in the Champion Bumper, but the master of Ditcheat could have a major player in the 2024 race with the highly touted Teeshan, who was impressive when winning on his British debut and looked like a potential star of the future for the Somerset handler.

Romeo Coolio, You Oughta Know and The Yellow Clay are another three contenders that should play a prominent role and add more depth to the event.
