Pertemps Final Entries 2024 - 57 Entries for Thursday's Qualifier Handicap

Many significant qualifiers for the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle have been provisionally entered among a field of 57 for the 2024 renewal taking place on Thursday, 14th March. Chief among those is Icare Allen, who was third in his qualifier at Aintree in November and has been put away with this race in mind by Willie Mullins.

He is not the only hopeful for owner JP McManus, who won this twice in recent years courtesy of 2023 Stayers’ Hurdle champion Sire Du Berlais, as Chantry House is also involved in the entries for Nicky Henderson. The ten-year-old was fourth in a qualifier at Huntingdon in January and is a former Cheltenham Festival winner, having claimed the 2021 running of the Grade 1 Turners Novices’ Chase.

Gaoth Chuil, who won the qualifier at Leopardstown over Christmas, is well-fancied for the race for Ted Walsh and is another who spearheads the Irish charge. However, another of the qualifier winners across the Irish Sea, Jody Ted, has not been entered by trainer Eoin Griffin.

The in-form White Rhino will be bidding for a third victory this season in the race if able to make the final field off his mark, while Springwell Bay is double entered in this and the Coral Cup, but is a Cheltenham winner already this season.
