Cheltenham host their three-day November meeting this week with the Paddy Power Gold Cup being the feature race on Saturday afternoon. A spectacular three-day jumping treat will see a whole host of other top quality races, with the Shloer Chase and Greatwood Handicap Hurdle two of the standout races across the three days.

Wed 22 Oct 2025One of the early season chase highlights, the Paddy Power Gold Cup has been won by some very smart performers down the years with Imperial Commander most recently going on from victory in this race to claiming Cheltenham Gold Cup glory later in his career. A race targeted by the leading trainers the reigning champion in 2025 will be Il Ridoto for Paul Nicholls, and that Ditcheat raider is set to try and emulate Bradbury Star by winning back-to-back renewals of the race.
Down the years the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle has been a springboard to the Champion Hurdle, and while it’s used less these days as trial for that Grade 1 contest at the Cheltenham Festival, it’s still a hugely competitive betting heat for punters and the trends are certainly worth keeping an eye when picking your selection.
