The 2023 Epsom Derby takes place this Saturday at the earliest ever start time of
1.30pm (BST).
One of the biggest events on the sporting calendar, this will be the 224th edition of
the famous Derby race between racing’s elite three-year-old colts.
Frankie Dettori will be hoping to ride Arrest to glory in his final Derby, but faces stiff
competition from the likes of early favourite Auguste Rodin — trained by Aidan
O’Brien, who has entered three horses — as well as Charlie Appleby’s Military Order.
