Exeter Racing Tips - Andrew Mount's Best Bets for Friday 6 March

Andrew Mount bagged a 3/1 winner on Thursday and he will attempt to continue his winning ways on Friday 6 March with a brace of selections at Exeter.

Eight races take place at the West Country venue this afternoon and Andrew heads to the 2.10pm and 3.40pm contests for his best bets.

Exeter Racing Tips (Friday 6 March 2026)

There are four hurdle races and four chases on Exeter’s jumps card on Friday, with some competitive action taking place all afternoon.

2.10 Exeter – Zainy Champ (1pt win – 11/2 generally)

The Jane Williams-trained Saint Cyr De Pail heads the betting at around 7-2 for this 2m3f handicap chase, but he wears a tongue-tie for the first time, and his handler is 0-17 with this headgear. The seven-year-old also needs to improve on the clock. Of greater interest is Jeremy Scott’s top weight Zainy Champ, who makes his chase debut. Since the beginning of 2021, his trainer is six from 23 with chase debutants going straight into handicap company for a profit of £29.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. Four of the last six qualifiers have won (10-1, 100-30, 3-1 and 5-2).

14:10 Klargester Handicap Chase

3.40 Exeter – Neon Moon (1pt win – 9/1 bet365, 888sport, 17/2 generally)

Neon Moon tends to perform best in the warmer months, recording form figures from March to October of 171163P113144 (6-13) for a profit of £34.50 to a £1 level stake at SP, including form figures right-handed of 1113 (3-4) with the defeat at Kempton when the patient tactics employed were at a big disadvantage. David Pipe’s ten-year-old runs in veterans’ handicap chase company for the first time and, though arriving here on the back of a fall, he does qualify as a bet for me on an interesting system – since 2013, backing ten-year-olds in these races who failed to complete the course last time out would have found 38 winners from 237 bets (16% strike-rate) for a profit of £75.74 to a £1 level stake at SP (Pull Again Green also qualifies on this angle).
