A Plus Tard and Buzz lit up Saturday’s action in Britain, but the weekend’s racing didn’t end there. Our editors have picked out five to watch at Exeter and Uttoxeter along with a fantastic offer from William Hill of Bet £10 – Get £30 In Free Bets
GAIA DE GOUET (12:10 Uttoxeter)
Purchased for £85,000 by Ryan Mahon on behalf of Dan Skelton and owner Robert Kirkland, Gaia Du Gouet could prove an exciting prospect.
Her point-to-point victory at Tipperary is already working out well: the runner-up Clearly Crazy won on her rules debut in September, while the third and fourth both won in the pointing sphere afterwards. Two-time rules winner, Fiadh, unseated in the race too.
She’s certainly in the right hands to go far and she’ll be well-tested by her fellow mares for her rules debut. Harry Fry’s Ma Belle Noire has two respectable bumper efforts under her belts, while both Walk In My Shoes and Way Past Midnight have comparable point efforts to their names.

DEBESTYMAN (1:10 Uttoxeter)
Debestyman has somehow only won once over hurdles, but for a horse rated only 119, he has gone very close to winning some big races.
He would have won Kempton’s Lanzarote Hurdle in January 2020 but for tipping up at the last when three lengths clear. Nine months later, he chased home Captain Tom Cat at Cheltenham. That horse is now rated 146 over fences and Debestyman conceded him weight that day.
All four of the son of Mahler’s seasonal debuts have been his worst runs of the season, so expect him to come on significantly for his run at Plumpton earlier this month.

SOUPY SOUPS (2:40 Uttoxeter)
The ten-year-old Soupy Soups has struggled in recent times. However, now eligible for veterans’ races, it should be remembered that his best efforts were at a much higher level.
Just two years ago, he chased home Give Me A Copper in the Badger Ales Trophy at Wincanton and is now rated 19lbs lower than that effort. That owes to a string of lacklustre efforts over the last year, including in the veterans’ circuit the last twice.
Those races were particularly strong for the type, however and he’s dropped to a mark of 115 for this lower-quality affair. Even a repeat of some of his more recent efforts would entitle him to be competitive at this level and he’s a grand horse to continue following.

OSCARS MOONSHINE(1:00 Exeter)
Unusually for a Paul Nicholls horse, Oscars Moonshine took some time to find his feet in National Hunt racing.
However, the pin dropped last autumn when he succeeded in claiming a hat-trick of handicap victories, all on quicker ground. That saw his mark rise by 23lbs, but he still has the chance of progression at the age of six.
His comeback at Newton Abbot saw him finish second, breaking his winning run albeit with excuses. The heavy ground was not in keeping with what we have seen this season and should put him right for what will be his chase debut.
He will run from the bottom of the handicap in this four-runner field and he’s the only one with a recent run under his belt.

KILLER KANE (2:30 Exeter)
It’s reasonable that Killer Kane would have needed his first run back from a break and Colin Tizzard’s charge can make a useful novice chaser this term.
He won his only point-to-point and was far from disgraced on his chasing debut, despite that coming after a layoff in October. Back on a better surface at Exeter tomorrow, he will be up against more experienced opponents.
This will be only his second start over fences against rivals who have racked up 28 chase runs between them. However, that leaves them more exposed to a progressive rival, which Killer Kane surely is and a mark of 126 should be defiable for a horse with intentions of bigger targets.
