Currently available at around 7/1, Blow Your Wad, trained by Gary & Josh Moore, fits the profile Mount believes has historically performed best in the contest.
Discussing the angle, Mount said: “In the last 10 years, 52 horses have lined up without any form of headgear. Only one of those 52 won.”
He added: “Nine winners have worn headgear in the last 10 years from a sample of 58.”
With the statistics firmly in his favour, Mount believes the selection represents strong value in a race packed with depth.
