Instead of simply backing a horse to win or each-way, you can pick a horse based on the returns you will receive for them finishing first down to fourth. How The Bet365 Position Payout Works
Ahead of the weekend’s racing, you can now bet on the Position Payout markets with bet365. These are unlike traditional betting markets in that you are not backing a horse to win or even each-way. Instead, you are selecting a horse in a race to receive a payout depending on their position in the first four.
This is presented on bet365’s site as a quantity payout if you bet £10. For example, a favourite for a race may have a payout of £20 for finishing first, but you could still get a return down to fourth, gradually reducing depending on if they are second, third or fourth. These could be £13, £8 and £5 for the aforementioned favourite. Fundamentally, it is still better for your horse to finish as high as possible, but it can mean that you get more of a return on shorter priced horses if they don’t win, as well as significant winnings if you are still tempted to bet a longer odds.
The good news for those wishing to give the position payout markets a go is that free bet credits and other offers can still be used on this new horse racing betting market.
How To Bet On Bet365 Position Payout Markets
Navigate to the horse racing section of the bet365 site. From there, you are able to select the “position payout” option to see the payouts available for your chosen horse. The Position Payout is also available as its own mini site to begin with.
Click on the horse you then want to bet on and fill in your stake as normal. This will adjust the payout relative to the stake, but will be at the same rate as the market shown.
Bet365 Position Payout Key Terms & Conditions
- Position Payout is available pre-race on selected UK & Ireland Horse Racing from 10:00 AM UK Time on the day of the race. Position Payout will be available pre-race on selected meetings one hour before the start of the first race at each meeting, where Fixed Prices are available.
- Position Payout is a fixed odds market.
- Position Payout bets can only be Cashed Out pre-race.
- Position Payout bets are not available on Antepost markets.
- Bet Credits can be used for placing Position Payout bets
- In the event of a horse within a Position Payout race becoming a non-runner at odds of 5.75 or greater, your bet will stand at the original price. If the non-runner is at odds of 5.50 or less, then your bet will be recalculated in line with prices at the time of withdrawal.
- In the event of a dead-heat, Position Payout bets will be paid out at the full multiplication value for the higher place. For example, if your horse dead heats for 3rd place, you will receive the full payout for the 3rd place multiplier.
- Position Payout bets will not be eligible for Best Odds Guaranteed or Odds Drift Protector.
