Looking set to be the first Derby winner since 2015 to take part in the Coral Eclipse, City Of Troy is a hot favourite to claim back-to-back Group 1s and defeat his elders on Saturday, 6th July. His main market rivals were set to be Passenger and White Birch until both met with setbacks in the build-up. As such, the rest of the market has a much more open feel to it.

Three-year-olds Dancing Gemini and Ghostwriter are next in at 13/2 and 7/1 respectively; both have finished in the first four of French Classics this season, with the former a runner-up in the French 2000 Guineas and the latter fourth in the French Derby. Former top level scorer Al Riffa is a best-priced 25/1 next in the market. His Group 1 success came as a juvenile, while has has been fourth and sixth in France and the US in that sphere in 2024. See The Fire and Stay Alert are bigger outsiders at 66/1 and 80/1 respectively, with City Of Troy’s likely pacemaker Hans Andersen a general 100/1 to slip the field from the front.
