Doyle Doing The Rounds - Hollie Rides For Six Different Trainers At Leicester On Thursday

After being the first rider to earn her 100th winner of 2022 recently, Hollie Doyle has six rides on Thursday for six different yards at Leicester. We have previewed each one, alongside 888‘s new customer offer of £30 in Free Bets + a £10 Casino Bonus when you deposit £10.

KISS N CUDDLE – David Evans (1.40 Leicester)

Doyle will look to open her account for the day on a colt who is clearly highly thought of. KISS N CUDDLE was deemed talented and forward enough to contest the Brocklesby at the start of this season.

David Evans’ charge was only tenth to Persian Force in that Doncaster race and could only finish fifth on his next effort over 6f. That was also his first start at Leicester and it appeared that the yard’s early faith may have been misplaced.

However, Doyle was booked for the first time when remaining over that same track and trip earlier in July. That change, coupled with a first-time visor, did the trick, as he won that seller event by a length.

That may have been a weaker affair than the two races he had previously contested, but the runner-up had a provisional rating of 80. There is a chance that a mark of 67 could underrate him on his handicap debut and Evans clearly believe that Doyle can continue making a difference.

ARGIRL – Kevin Phillipart De Foy (2.10 Leicester)

It is now nine starts without even having placed for ARGIRL, which makes her difficult to obviously recommend. However, all may not be entirely lost.

For one thing, she is surprisingly well-bred for one of a low level. Moreover, in six starts as a juvenile for Eve Johnson Houghton, she did display the odd bit of promise, not least on her debut, when fourth of ten at Windsor.

She had also been fifth of 14 at Bath in maiden company, but otherwise hope has been scarce. Her debut for Kevin Phillipart de Foy, who she joined in March, saw her finish fourth again, albeit beaten 12 lengths, in a handicap at Chelmsford, off a mark of 53.

She is now effectively on a basement mark now, as she is 1lb out of the handicap off 46 here. Doyle is certainly a positive jockey booking and if she can conjure her best efforts, that could see her involved.

GAME MASTER – Saeed bin Suroor (2.40 Leicester)

Doyle’s record for Saeed bin Suroor in her career is very good, with four winners from 14 rides to a 29% strike rate and greater than a five-point profit.

In the Godolphin colours, GAME MASTER has failed to score in his first three starts, but he has had plenty of competition in each. Not that that will be changing here necessarily, with William Haggas’ four-year-old Sea Speedwell conceding weight all-round and Roger Varian’s Qabilah under a 5lb winner’s penalty for a victory three weeks ago.

This son of Postponed does not have to worry about any extra weight carriage and has run solid races in defeat so far. Two of those were under Doyle over 1m2f, including his closest effort when third at Windsor in May. he appeared not to stay the full 1m4f trip when upped in distance at Catterick last time.

Back down to 1m2f, he could prove well-treated against the winning pair. Doyle’s excellent winning record with bin Suroor can be improved further.

Devasboy – Charlie & Mark Johnston (3.40 Leicester)

Appropriately, for those aware of the Classical connotations, DEVASBOY gained a third career victory at Chester recently.

He has had a very solid career to date, winning once as a juvenile, as well as twice this season. Maintaining consistency has proven rather more difficult, with at least four starts between every victory, as well as the odd howler thrown in for good measure.

Since returning to turf, he has been last of eight at Hamilton over 6f before that victory at Chester. At that latter venue, he failed to back up that success when only fourth of five last time and has the same mark here.

Nevertheless, his profile suggests he can reproduce his better form after a more low key effort. This is Doyle’s first encounter with him, but this trip on turf probably represents ideal conditions.

Wiff Waff – Adrian Wintle (4.40 Leicester)

A veteran of 60 career starts, WIFF WAFF is very much into the twilight days of his racing life now.

Initially trained by Stuart Williams, he reached a peak rating of 75 as a three-year-old. Those days are long gone, with him now rated 48 with Adrian Wintle, though he has had success at a lower level with this yard.

He has run in this race or its equivalent for the last two years, winning a classified race here in August 2020, while he was runner-up in this exact contest a year ago. Those are his only two career starts over course and distance, which bodes well for him going close once again here.

His recent efforts on the all-weather have been disappointing, though he was returning after 185 days off at Chepstow last time and can be forgiven that. Despite retirement probably looming in the near future, he may not have finished his winning just yet.

Blazer Two – Michael Scudamore (5.10 Leicester)

This will be only a second ever run on turf for Michael Scuamore’s charge, who achieved a heartbreaking five-timer between September and March.

In that time, BLAZER TWO had five successive runner-up finishes between 1m2f-1m4f as he continually came up slightly short. Unfortunately, his chances of winning briefly evaporated with those efforts as he climbed to a mark of 54. He has been down the field on his last two starts.

Those have served to drop his mark by 2lb once again, meaning he is likely back on a very competitive rating. Similarly, though his lack of turf experience could be a worry, he was fourth of nine at this venue over 1m on his only ever appearance on such a surface, which is hardly alarming.

This trip of 1m4f look to be more his thing, which could see him relish this more than anything. There is no safe way to rule him out.
