65 entries were completed for the 2026 Hallgarten and Novum Wines Juvenile Handicap Hurdle. The contest is exclusive to four-year-olds on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.

The two ante-post favourites have both had their names slated down. Winston Junior is the prime British hope on that metric, having won so impressively last time out. He has also finished second at Cheltenham before now too.

The leader among the Irish brigade looks to be Saratoga. He was second last time out at Naas in a contest which has an exceptional record of producing the winner of this race at the Cheltenham Festival.

Some of the sport’s biggest trainers are represented by multiple runners in the entries. Nicky Henderson has both Manlaga and Mustang Du Breuil to potentially call upon, with both interesting types for this race.

Willie Mullins is mob-handed as ever, though has two of significant note. Both Madness d’Elle and Selma De Vary are owned by Rich Ricci, so would carry famous silks at Cheltenham if running here. The latter is also second favourite for the Triumph Hurdle.

Ammes would represent James Owen here, who has a good recent history with juvenile hurdlers, while both Highland Crystal and Minella Yoga have made headlines with their own victories at various points so far this campaign.
