Jeremys Flame (2.20 Fairyhouse)

She may have only won two of her 11 chase starts, but it has been a very consistent season for Jeremys Flame if you ignore an aberration last time out.

She debuted for the season against Riviere D’etel and realistically had little chance of conceding her 9lb. However, since then she has won twice, defeating today’s rival Dolcita on two occasions and pushing the very useful Concertista all the way in a Cork Grade 2 back in December.

Indeed, she has twice been second at this level, but blew her lines last time out. The heavy ground may well have been a reason, as she had not run on ground so deep all season.

The balance of her previous form makes her a very worthy favourite. Dolcita gets 3lb this time, but Gavin Cromwell’s charge can bear that.

Berkshire Royal (3.39 Fairyhouse)

Few horses will have had to cope with such an intense hurdles debut as Berkshire Royal. No sooner had he gone into training with Willie Mullins than he made his first start in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle in 2020.

He finished, albeit 80 lengths behind Shishkin, but that could hardly have been a surprise. That said, he was rated 86 at his best on the flat for Andrew Balding, so it would have been clear that he had ability once he arrived at Closutton.

It took him 430 days to reappear, but he did so in winning style. He scored by ten lengths at Kilbeggan last May, but once more endured a spell off the course thereafter. Once more he came back, this time finishing second in a Grade 3 at Thurles in February.

This will be his first run with some fitness under his belt since he was a flat horse and it will be fascinating to know how far he can progress.

Hawai Game (4.05 Fairyhouse)

Hawai Game was quietly fancied against Dysart Dynamo last time out in this Grade.

While everything went wrong for him that day, it shows the levels he reached on debut at Naas in December. He won a maiden hurdle very cosily having also been successful in a bumper in France before joining Willie Mullins.

He never looked comfortable behind his vaunted stablemate at Punchestown latest, but can surely be forgiven that as an inexperienced horse coming up against formidable opposition. His was not the only bubble burst that day either.

A half-brother to the extremely useful Easy Game, there could well be more to come from him and there is no point giving up on him yet.

Twilight Spinner (3.12 Cork)

Logo Hunter and Mooneista have achieved more, but Twilight Spinner is a preciously unexposed sprinter for Joseph O’Brien.

Unraced at two, she has had just four runs to date, the first three of which were for David O’Meara last season. He was beaten on debut, but then scored twice in some style, first at Ripon, and then on heavy ground at Haydock.

That proved she is very versatile ground wise, as her Ripon success was on good-to-soft. Moreover, that win came at Listed level and was recorded by 6 ½ lengths. She was subsequently switched to O’Brien and ran an excellent second to the vastly more experienced Art Power at the Curragh.

She has any amount of potential to improve here and is worth watching for this season. She could develop into a Group 1 horse.
