NAP: Tis Marvellous – 2.05pm Beverley Bullet (7/2 Generally)
Tis Marvellous is back again at Beverley for a crack at defending his Beverley Bullet win last season.
He looks well placed to run a big race having faired ok in Group company without being able to land a blow. This is much more his level and a return to the track which will suit his strong finishing style should mean he’s right there in the mixer.
He’s currently well priced at 7/2 at the top of the market and should make a bold bid with plenty of pace on to give him a toe into the race.
Today’s Racecards
Double
Outrun The Storm – 1.30 Beverley (11/4 generally)
Bright Diamond – 1.50 Goodwood (9/2 generally)
On the back of two narrow defeats Outrun The Storm can get back to winning ways in the opener on ITV. Richard Fahey’s chard has gone down by a combine one and a quarter lengths in his past two runs and is in really good form coming into this. He got to the front too soon last time and with a better timed run can come out on top in this.
Bright Diamond went straight in the notebook as one to follow after a facile 9 length breeze at Newmarket earlier this month. She coasted through that race and put it to bed with a furlong left to run. Although she might not have beaten much the sky is the limit for this filly and it’s impossible to ignore the claims here, with improvement to come after just one start. She’s in perfect hands too, with Karl Burke proving a master with his to-year-old for many seasons.
Outsider
Pure Dreamer – 3.15 Jenningsbet Hopeful Stakes, Newmarket (10/1 generally)
I’m with prolific winner PURE DREAMER here. He looks the one in the line up who might have a bit more to come having been a prolific winner who is now 4/5 this year after a 568 day lay off so he is clearly making up for lost time.
He beat Bergerac over the course and distance last time. He’s subsequently gone in twice including a big handicap at York last week. He steps up in grade obviously but is on the upgrade and goes up against some rivals who come here off the back of running at York last week. Expect a good show from the Richard Hannon inmate at a course and distance he has already landed at.
