Colonel Harry showed he is a classy performer on his day at Wetherby. Is he ground versatile and can he challenge in the Turners?

Jamie Snowden: “He ran very well in the Grade 1 Henry VIII at Sandown, pecking at the first but only just got beaten. He obviously improved when stepping up in trip and winning the Grade 2 Towton Novices’ Chase at Wetherby again on very soft. His one slight disappointment was at Sandown last time out, where they were actually watering the back straight believe it or not. He certainly does want soft, and though he is in the Arkle and the Turners, the Turners looks the more obvious race to go for.”

Farceur Du Large has been a star this season. Is there a plan for him coming up?

JS: “I was lucky to win the Grand Military and Royal Artillery four times as a jockey and had been trying to as a trainer for years and failed miserably. It was a relief when we did finally win it! He’s a lovely horse who is in the Ultima, the Cross Country Chase and the Midlands National the day after the Festival and that would be the race we are leaning towards at the moment.”

Was the first Cheltenham Festival winner the most satisfying day as a trainer for you, or was the second even more so?

JS: “Which is the most satisfying is very difficult to quantify. You might say the first ever was, or the first after a spell of runner-ups. It’s skirting the question a little bit, but it is impossible to pick one. My heart rate was through the roof when Present View won though, which gives you some indication of what it feels like.”
