Lennox Stakes Runners 2025 - Former Winners Headline 17 Confirmations

17 runners remain in contention for the Group 2 Lennox Stakes, one of a series of top contests set to take place on Tuesday, 29th July, the opening day of Glorious Goodwood. They include two-time former winner Kinross, the eight-year-old veteran who claimed this in 2021 and 2023.

He is not the only previous Lennox Stakes winner in the field though,a s defending champion Audience is still in the field for John & Thady Gosden. The Cheveley Park-owned star was a thoroughly impressive winner of this 12 months ago.

Among the three-year-olds taking part against their elders is Jersey Stakes hero Noble Champion for Ed Walker. The son of Lope De Vega stormed away for a clear career best at Royal Ascot from Spy Chief, another potential Gosden contender, while another member of the Classic generation in contention is Jonquil, disappointing in the Commonwealth Cup when dropped to 6f, but a French 2000 Guineas runner-up previously. Ides Of March, Intrusively and Seagulls Eleven add further weight to the three-year-old contingent.

A Group 1 runner-up over 6f, Lake Forest could be very well-suited by this 7f trip, while fellow four-year-olds Paborus and Ten Bob Tony are improvers as of late. At the same age, Alyanaabi, Iberian and Witness Stand are all trying to build back to form.

Former top-class handicappers Balmacara and Quinault will attempt to claim their first Group 2 victories, with Nostrum, now in the hands of David O’Meara after the retirement of Sir Michael Stoute, completing the 17.
