LEN BRENNAN – (Follow @starsports_bet On Twitter Handicap Chase) 5/4

LEN BRENNAN managed just the one win from seventeen starts for Tim Vaughan, that victory coming at odds of 1/4F in a Sedgefield novice hurdle back in November 2019.

He joined current connections after struggling at Market Rasen on Boxing Day and the change of scenery appeared to have an instant impact, with Len Brennan running out a well-backed winner of a handicap chase at Plumpton last week.

The first-time cheekpieces applied there have been retained, and he gets in here off the same mark as last week, so if in the same mood should prove tough to beat.

Verdict: Hacked up on stable debut last week; cheekpieces applied, the headgear is retained today and he gets in off the same mark, so certainly the one to beat.

BEBRAVEFORGLORY – (1:35pm Southwell, Call Star Sports On 08000 521 321 Handicap Chase) 15/8

BEBRAVEFORGLORY showed promise in novice/maiden hurdles for Tim Vaughan at Chepstow last season and a switch to Evan Williams’ yard brought about a first victory at Hereford last week.

That success came over hurdles, but Bebraveforglory has a pedigree and point to point background to suggest that chasing would ultimately be his game, and he jumped proficiently on his only chase start up to now, despite losing a shoe.

Adam Wedge retains familiarities having ridden Bebraveforglory at Hereford, and he gets in here unpenalised, so should this not come too soon it would be disappointing if he didn’t put up a bold showing.

Verdict: Winner on stable debut at Hereford last week and a potential improver for the switch to fences, whilst he also gets in here unpenalised for that latest success.

PEACEFUL SUNDAY – (2:35pm Leopardstown, Connolly’s RED MILLS Irish EBF Auction Novice Hurdle)

Stuart Crawford sends PEACEFUL SUNDAY up to Leopardstown on Monday, a quick turnaround for the 6yo who claimed the scalp of the useful John Cannon at Fairyhouse last week.

That represented a big jolt of improvement on what Peaceful Sunday had previously achieved and connections will be hoping to strike while the irons hot in this valuable IRE Incentive Race.

Peaceful Sunday could do with brushing up on his jumping at this higher level, however, and the reopposing John Cannon has a weights pull in his favour this afternoon. With representatives from the likes of Willie Mullins, Noel Meade and Gordon Elliott also in attendance, this is expected to be a far more competitive assignment.

Verdict: Held off John Cannon to score at Fairyhouse last time; despite jumping poorly, but this is far tougher and he will need to brush up on his jumping.
