Lincoln Handicap Runners - Full Field of 22 Declared for Flat Season Opener

A full field of 22 runners have been declared for the Lincoln at Doncaster, the flat season’s premier opening handicap on Saturday. They are headed by top-weight and defending champion Migration, trained by David Menuisier, who took the spoils at 18/1 last season off a mark of 107.

Pre-race favourites Awaal and Liberty Lane have both been declared for the race, run over 1m on Doncaster’s straight course. The former was runner-up in the race a year ago, and is set to run off the same mark this time around, having also been placed at Royal Ascot and at Listed level since. The latter was a winner at Doncaster last season and should be seen to best effect on the prevailing heavy ground.

Recent Irish Lincolnshire winner Chazzesmee could bid for the double having been declared by trainer Fozzy Stack. He will carry a 5lb penalty for that success, while another former winner of this race, Johan, is another declaration towards the head of the weights for Jack Channon and Silvestre De Sousa.

The last guaranteed runner after declarations were announced is Alpha Crucis for dual-purpose handler Gary Moore. The full field for the race can be seen below.
