GG tipster Andrew Mount reveals his list of eyecatchers from the past week’s racing. Check them out below and GET A £10 FREE BET AT BETWAY

CAPTAIN ZEBO (won, 3m1f handicap hurdle, Carlisle, Sunday, December 13)

John Dixon’s underrated eight-year-old coped well with the step up in trip on his return from a 300-day break, gamely holding on by a head in the Pertemps Qualifier. This win took his record for his current trainer to 11111 (5-5), with the last four wins coming at Carlisle. He runs especially well when fresh, so don’t be surprised if he’s not out again until the spring.

FANZIO (second, 2m2f handicap chase, Taunton, Thursday, December 10)

FANZIO conforms to the OXO pattern – good run, bad run, good run etc – and was due a good one here, having pulled up when a 9-2 shot at Wetherby on his previous outing. He drifted from 8-1 out to 22-1 on the exchanges at one point (SP 12-1) but traded odd-on before getting caught close home by Master Work. His record following a win reads 3750P (0-5) whereas, since the start of this year, he has figures of 213112 (3-6) immediately following a defeat.

FFION (won, 7f fillies’ novice stakes, Wolverhampton, Saturday, December 12)

FFION, who had won over the same course and distance on her debut in September, followed up in comfortable fashion. Her sire, Sepoy, has a superior strike-rate on Polytrack and there could be even more to come when she runs at the likes of Chelmsford, Kempton or Lingfield this winter.

INSTANT REPLAY (fourth, 2m handicap chase, Doncaster, Saturday, December 12)

INSTANT REPLAY trailed home 25 lengths behind the leader in fourth, his cause not helped by a bad mistake at the fourth fence. It wasn’t a bad effort in the circumstances, especially as the Brian Ellison yard is quiet, and he’ll be interesting in the new year. His record in January and February reads 1111 (4-4).

KICK ON KICK ON (seventh, 5f handicap, Lingfield, Sunday, December 13)

KICK ON KICK ON could only finish seventh of nine but the 5-2 favourite, poorly drawn in stall 8, raced very wide and can be given another chance.

MARSHAL DAN (fourth, 7f handicap, Newcastle, Saturday, December 12)

MARSHAL DAN lined up in the 7f Class 2 handicap on the back of a Musselburgh turf success in October but has never recorded back-to-back victories. He could only finish a modest fourth of eight, albeit after getting no cover from stall 1, and now has form figures immediately following a win of 9724334 (0-7). His record this year after a defeat stands at 111 (3-3) and he could prove value to bounce back on his next start.

ON THE BLIND SIDE (second, 3m handicap hurdle, Cheltenham, Friday, December 11)

ON THE BLIND SIDE has done well since reverting from chasing, winning a Tapeta bumper and Listed handicap hurdle on Cheltenham’s Old Course before this solid second. He raced on the slowest ground towards the inside rail and might have given the winner more of a race had he stayed wide. If we ignore his chase starts, his record reads 1116212 (5-8), improving to 111112 (5-6) below Grade 2 level.

PINK JAZZ (won, 9.4f handicap, Wolverhampton, Saturday, December 12)

The inside of the track looked the place to be and PINK JAZZ deserves a favourable mention for scoring from a wide position in this Class 6 contest. His course record over 8.6f or further now reads 1231 (2-4).

SUZI’S CONNOISSEUR (third, 6f handicap, Wolverhampton, Saturday, December 12)

The pace held up in this 6f Class 5 handicap, with course expert Chookie Dunedin justifying 2-1 favouritism from stall 1 of 10. SUZI’S CONNOISSEUR (stall 9) did best of the closers in a 14-1 third and is the one to take from the race.

THE WHITE MOUSE (won, 2m4f mares’ handicap hurdle, Cheltenham, Saturday, December 12)

It looked to be an advantage to race wide on the hurdles track but THE WHITE MOUSE won the finale despite challenging more towards the inside. Lucy Wadham’s six-year-old now has hurdle figures of 121F11 (4-6) and can be backed to follow up.
