Premier League Football Tips - Week 3 Selections!

Welcome to Premier League Tips, our weekly feature, offering top picks and analysis of upcoming weekend fixtures in the English top flight from our very own Del Pugh.

Week two produced just one result of the “both to score” treble, but we did grab an 11/4 winner with the penalty awarded in the Stoke v Man City match.

For week three, our friends at Ladbrokes will be providing the odds for three singles and a treble I’ve picked, along with another Cheeky Punt Of The Week.

My first pick is the Crystal Palace v Bournemouth match at Selhurst Park, with both sides looking for their first Premier League points of the season.

Palace have limped along to two successive 1-0 defeats against West Brom and Spurs, with both goals coming in the last twenty minutes of the game. Bournemouth have shown glimpses of form but have lost to Man United (1-3) and West Ham (0-1) so far.

The signing of Christian Benteke should help an impotent Palace attack, but despite playing 45 minutes in the cup on Tuesday, don’t expect too much from the big Belgian just yet. If Bournemouth can stop the errors seen in the opening games, they will eventually start picking up results too. After the poor starts by both sides, a draw looks like a result that both would settle for.

Draw Bet 9/4

Our next selection comes from Vicarage Road, as Watford take on Arsenal, with both sides on a single point after two matches.

After drawing away to Southampton on the opening day, Watford were beaten by two late Chelsea goals at Vicarage Road. In their opener, Arsenal were beaten 4-3 by Liverpool, but the Gunners managed to allay some defensive fears, with a goalless draw at Leicester.

Watford’s main problem has been holding onto a lead, with both Premier League matches and the cup defeat to Gillingham in midweek, seeing Watford score first and failing to win. The return of Laurent Koscielny to the back line against Leicester for the Gunners, immediately had a positive impact, but Aaron Ramsey’s absence in midfield could prove a factor. It could be a tough afternoon for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Draw Bet 13/5

Last up, is the Sunday kick-off between West Brom and Middlesbrough, with both sides getting off to a reasonable start.

West Brom have started off with a win and a loss in their two league matches, but a full strength side lost on penalties at Northampton in the cup, which will concern Tony Pulis.. Middlesbrough have continued their good form since promotion, with a draw against Stoke, followed by a good win over North East rivals, Sunderland, as Aitor Karanka continues to do a great job at the club.

This looks to be the strongest candidate for a draw result of the three matches, with both sides capable in defence and better going forward. The battle in midfield will be crucial, West Brom arguably have more bite and physicality in that department, but having come through physical games already, Middlesbrough are unlikely to be deterred and I can see them cancelling each other out overall.

Draw Bet 2/1

Selections

I recommend backing all three selections as single bets, but for those brave souls who fancy something larger, the Treble at 34/1 offers a big priced punt! Join Ladbrokes today and Get Up To £50 Free!!!

Cheeky Punt Of The Week

As mentioned above, Watford take on Arsenal on Saturday, with the Hornets inability to keep a lead, a growing issue. Arsenal’s comeback abilities have been well documented over the last season and they nearly did so against Liverpool too. Could the same thing happen here?

Ladbrokes price of 15/4 Arsenal to come from behind and win/draw, looks to have every opportunity in my opinion.
