Wolves vs Liverpool (12.30pm Saturday)

It’s not been the best start for Wolves this season, with just three points from their first four games, and it doesn’t look likely it will get any better after this weekend. An in-form Liverpool side is the last thing they needed, and Jurgen Klopp’s side can pile more misery on them.

After drawing away to Chelsea on the opening weekend, Liverpool have won all three games since, including a demolition job against Villa before the international break. All their big guns are firing, and the new-look midfield already seems an improvement on last seasons options. Recent H2H form suggests they will come out on top too, with Liverpool winning 8 of the last 10 games again Wolves, including four of the last five at the Molineux Stadium.

I don’t see Wolves getting much from this game, but I do think they could find the back of the net. They’ve scored in all but one of their games this season, and Liverpool have conceded in six of their last eight away PL games. With that in mind, the /1 on the Liverpool win + both teams to score looks a solid option.

Prediction – Wolves 1-3 Liverpool

Best Bet – Liverpool To Win + Both Teams To Score (13/8)

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace (3pm Saturday)

Both sides have made promising starts to the season and this should be an entertaining game, with goals aplenty! Villa are a hard side to predict, but they do tend to usually find the back of the net, and with the home support behind them, they might just edge this.

Unai Emery’s side ran out convincing 4-0 winners over Everton on their sole home PL game this season, but have also suffered 5-1 and 3-0 defeats already this season, so they’re not the easiest side to call! Their home record over Crystal Palace is pretty solid though, where they’re unbeaten in the last six (won four), so I do think they could just edge this.

Crystal Palace have had a superb start to the season, but I do think they’ve had a fairly easy run of things so far. Victories against Sheffield Utd (17th) and Wolves (15th) have been hard fought, and they’ve struggled when coming up against the better sides. I think Villa will win this, but I do think both sides will score too, so the 11/4 on a Villa win + both teams to score is a fantastic bet at surprisingly big odds.

Prediction – Aston Villa 2-1 Crystal Palace

Best Bet – Aston Villa To Win + Both Teams To Score (11/4)

Fulham vs Luton (3pm Saturday)

I’m going to continue with the same theme here most weeks, backing Luton to lose. I simply don’t think they have the quality to get many results in the league this season, especially away from home.

Luton have been brushed aside by Brighton and Chelsea away from home already this season, and Fulham have made a solid enough start to the season, considering they lost their best player and their main attacking threat in Aleksander Mitrovic. They currently sit in mid table and if they’re still there and the end of the season I think most of their fans would consider that a successful season.

There’s no value in backing a Fulham win, so we need to add something to the bet. I don’t see Luton scoring, but I think the safer option looks to be Fulham To Win + Under 4.5 goals, currently paying evens on SkyBet.

Prediction – Fulham 2-0 Luton

Best Bet – Fulham To Win + Under 4.5 Goals (1/1)

Man Utd vs Brighton (3pm Saturday)

This one could go either way, but the recent H2H form suggests Brighton could come out on top. They’ve won the last three PL games against United, and they’ve also made the better start to the season. Man Utd are always tough to beat at home, but I think Brighton will edge this.

Erik ten Hag’s side may have won both home games this season, but they hardly impressed in either. They were 2-0 down after four minutes against Forest and Wolves could’ve easily snatched a draw, so they were perhaps fortunate to have won both games. The visit of Brighton will be an entirely different prospect and one they could easily lose.

Brighton have slipped up against West Ham but have run out comfortable winners in each of their other three games, which includes a cosy 3-1 win over Newcastle last time out. Their attacking play is so slick and they have some serious talent across their side, perhaps none more so than young striker Evan Ferguson, who looks destined for the big time.

Brighton’s attacking play could prove too much for United here, and if they score there’s a good chance young Evan Ferguson will be the one to do so for them. Backing Ferguson to score + Brighton to win is a huge 9/2, so it’s a bit risky but I can’t resist those odds!

Prediction – Man United 1 – 3 Brighton

Best Bet – Evan Ferguson To Score + Brighton To Win (9/2)

Tottenham vs Sheffield Utd (3pm Saturday)

This should be a fairly straightforward win for Ange Postecoglou’s side, who have been impressive in every game this season. Tottenham remain unbeaten after four games and are playing some fantastic attacking football, and the visit of Sheffield Utd shouldn’t prove too much of a threat to ruining their unbeaten run.

Spurs’ sole home game this season saw them beat Man Utd 2-0, and away from home they’ve been just as deadly, with wins against Burnley and Bournemouth. Their summer signings have made excellent starts to the season, perhaps none more so than James Maddison, who has two goals and two assists already to his name.

The same can’t be said for Sheffield United, who are yet to win this season and have sold two of their key players from last season. Their away record in the Premier League doesn’t make for good reading, losing 21 of their last 26 away games in the top flight, and I don’t see that improving on Saturday. After netting a hat-trick in their last game before the international break and scoring in the last H2H at the Tottenham Hostpur Stadium, backing Heung Min Son to score in a Tottenham victory looks a fairly safe bet.

Prediction – Tottenham 3-0 Sheffield Utd

Best Bet – Son To Score + Tottenham To Win (11/10)

West Ham vs Man City (3pm Saturday)

West Ham have made a fantastic start to the season, winning their last three games in a row before the international break, but that looks likely to end here when Man City come to town. Pep Guardiola’s side have shown no sign of stopping from where they left off last season, and it’s difficult to see any side preventing them winning the league again.

West Ham have spent the Declan Rice money wisely, bringing in multiple top talents who are already having a positive impact on the side, and they look a better side already this season than they did last season. Wins over Chelsea, Brighton and Luton prove that, but this will be by far their biggest test yet. They’re winless run in this H2H stretches back to 2015, and they lost both H2H’s last season to nil, which doesn’t bode well for their chances here.

Man City are the only side left with a 100% win record this season, and their H2H against West Ham is just so superior it’s difficult to see anything but another win for the Citizens. Erling Haaland is a goalscoring machine, so I was shocked to see odds of evens on offer for him scoring in a Man City win. I’ll certainly be having some of that!

Prediction – West Ham 1 -3 Man City

Best Bet – Haaland To Score + Man City To Win (1/1)

Newcastle vs Brentford (5.30pm Saturday)

After a superb season last year, it’s perhaps surprising that Newcastle are on a three game losing run, but it’s worth noting that they’ve had a tough run of games and this is a slight let up to that run, which could see them resume winning ways. Brentford are no mugs however, and they’re actually unbeaten this season, so won’t make it easy for Eddie Howe’s side.

Newcastle have faced Brighton and Man City away from home, with a home defeat to Liverpool sandwiched in between, so they’ll be relishing the visit of Thomas Frank’s side as a much more realistic game for them to win. Newcastle have only failed to score once this season, and with Brentford conceding in all but one of their games, you can be confident the home side will at least score one (I’d be confident they’ll net at least twice).

Brentford aren’t exactly an easy opposition to face, as their unbeaten run proves, but they lost home and away against Newcastle last season and I think it will be a similar outcome this season. Newcastle seem to have lost that defensive stability they had last season, so although I think they’ll win, I do think we’ll see both sides scoring.

Prediction – Newcastle 2-1 Brentford

Best Bet – Newcastle To Win + Both Teams to Score (2/1)

Bournemouth vs Chelsea (2pm Sunday)

When will it finally click for Chelsea? Just when you think they’ve turned a corner with a 3-0 win over Luton, they go and lost to Nottingham Forest at home just a week later! They’re so unpredictable at the moment, I don’t know where to begin with predicting the outcome of this one.

One thing I do fancy is goals. Both teams have scored in three of the last five H2H’s, as well as three of Bournemouth’s four PL games this season. Chelsea have seen both teams score in two of their four, and the only team who have failed to score against them is Luton, which doesn’t say that much for their defence.

Both teams to score is only 4/7, so add in Raheem Sterling to have a shot on target to make it up to evens. Sterling has started the season well with two goals already, so he looks a good option to bolster the odds up a bit.

Prediction – Bournemouth 1-2 Chelsea

Best Bet – Both Teams To Score + Sterling 1+ Shot On Target (1/1)

Everton vs Arsenal (4.30pm Sunday)

Looking at the stats for this game I was shocked to see the home side has won each of the last five H2H’s, and Everton have won the last three H2H’s at Goodison Park. Considering how poor they’ve been, I can’t see that happening again this season.

Arsenal look to have picked off where they left last season, and their 3-1 win over Man Utd was a big result for them. Their first real test and they came out with three points, so they should return from the international break with confidence high in the camp.

Everton look set for another difficult season, with only one point and two goals from their first four games. I think this will be a one-sided game and I don’t expect Everton to be much of a threat to Ramsdale and this Arsenal backline.

Prediction – Everton 0-2 Arsenal

Best Bet – Arsenal To Win To Nil (13/8)

Nottingham Forest vs Burnley (7.45pm Monday)

Nottingham Forest at home is a tough game for most teams, so newly promoted Burnley might find this a difficult game to get anything from. Vincent Kompany’s side have lost all three games so far and I don’t fancy their chances of changing that on Monday.

In those three games, Burnley have conceded 11 goals, so if they want to stay in the league they will need to be much better at the back. With the likes of Morgan Gibbs-White and the in-form Taiwo Awoniyi lining up against them here, I can see them conceding 3+ goals for the fourth successive game.

Nottingham Forest have made a solid start to the season, winning both home games they’ve played and perhaps unfortunate to lose away at Man United too. With the home crowd behind them, I’m confident they’ll make it a perfect 3/3 at home and the fact they’re available at over evens seems overpriced to me.

Prediction – Nottingham Forest 3-1 Burnley

Best Bet – Nottingham Forest To Win (11/10)
