The 6yo has gone on to land a competitive Sandown handicap hurdle by 9l, and although finding himself with a double penalty to carry here reverted to novice company an official rating of 129 put him a fair way clear of these rivals.
James Bowen is operating at a 41% strike rate (11/27) at Sedgefield in recent seasons, and barring incident it is highly likely that will be improved upon courtesy of Peejaybee in this 2m1f opener.

Jack Tudor will still be aiming to break his previous season-best winners tally of 27, with his partnership with Christian Williams expected to provide the rider with plenty of opportunities before the campaign concludes.
That duo partner up here with POWERFUL POSITION, a 7yo that runs in the same silks as the yard’s classy chaser Kitty’s Light.
Powerful Position was a winner at Ffos Las in November and bounced back from a pair of non-completions to score returned to that venue last time out.
A 7lb rise evidently demands more from Powerful Position, yet he remains open to improvement over stamina-sapping distances such as this, and being a son of Mahler, should appreciate the testing ground.
This has proven a good track for Jack Tudor, with the jockey winning aboard 4 of his 10 runners up to now, and he’ll be hoping that Powerful Position (his sole ride on the card) can enhance that with victory in this 3m3f handicap chase.

Unlike the two riders mentioned before him, Adam Wedge travels to Sedgefield for more than the solitary ride, yet although two of his three chances come for boss Evan Williams, his best opportunity appears to come courtesy of Tjade Collier’s BLUE HAWAII in Sedgefield’s concluding 2m1f handicap hurdle.
This daughter of Jeremy looked quite a useful prospect in novice hurdles last season, scoring at Catterick back in March.
She has failed to add to that victory in 6 starts this season yet has occupied the runners-up berth in two of her last three outings, most recently back at Catterick last month.
Connections now turn to a first-time tongue-tie for Blue Hawaii, which could bring about some improvement, and there are surely races to be won with her off a mark of 98.
Adam Wedge has just shy of a 30% strike rate at Sedgefield in the last five seasons, and his rides could be backed to a +13.90 profit off of level stakes, so it seems particularly interesting that Tjade Collier turns to the rider for the first time on Thursday.
