Skelton's Head to Wetherby - Top Team Bids for 53/1 Thursday Treble

Dan and Harry Skelton have a good record with their runners at Wetherby and the duo head north on Thursday where they have three entrants on the card. We assess the trio’s chances of success here, which comes along with a William Hill Bet £10 – Get £40 In Free Bets new customer offer.

MESSAGE PERSONNEL – (1:10pm, Watch RacingTV With Free Trial Now Juvenile Hurdle) 11/8

A winner in France last year for Jean-Pierre Dubois, MESSAGE PERSONNEL was picked up by these powerful connections afterwards and was not unfancied for a hot juvenile hurdle at Cheltenham on last month’s stable debut.

Message Personnel was still travelling well that day before a mistake two-out appeared to put him on the back foot and he could only plug on into fifth after that.

He should have learned plenty for that initial experience, however, and he comes out best on these terms, whilst even on that Cheltenham showing minimal improvement would be required dropped to this level.

APOTHICAIRE – (2:45pm, *Try Racing TV For Free Now EBF "National Hunt" Novices’ Hurdle) 11/1

Dan and Harry Skelton teamed up to land this race with Destrier in 2018, and APOTHICAIRE represents the same trainer/jockey combination in 2022.

This 6yo is the first foal out of French winner Aqua Alta, herself closely related to 2001 Prix de l’Opera winner Terre A Terre.

Apothicaire was sent off just 5/1 for a point-to-point at Ballindenisk on debut last month, where failing to complete, but he has since joined the Skelton’s and it seems notable that connections are keen to get him out quickly after that point run.

SHOLOKJACK – (3:15pm, Try Racing TV For Free Now EBF "National Hunt" Novices’ Hurdle) 10/11

Bookmakers feel that SHOLOKJACK presents the Skelton’s with their strongest chance of success at Wetherby on Thursday.

This 6yo runs in the familiar Sullivan Bloodstock silks and joined connections for £75,000 after landing a point-to-point at Mainstown in December 2020.

He was sent off the 11/10f for a Leicester maiden hurdle on stable debut last month and justified the odds in fine style, being merely pushed out to score. As that was his first start in over a year, Sholokjack is entitled to come on for the run, and therefore a penalty may not prevent him from following up.
