Unbeaten as a juvenile, Henry Longfellow failed to land any sort of blow when down the field in the French 2000 Guineas on his comeback run, but he will fly the flag for Aidan O’Brien here and is a 6/1 chance, at the time of writing, with the bookmakers.
Jerome Reynier’s French raider Darlinghurst is a fascinating entry for the St James’s Palace Stakes as the Dark Angel colt has picked up wins in Listed and Group 3 company at Chantilly and is now looking to step up to the highest level here. Around the 8/1 mark, this European challenger will certainly add huge intrigue to one of the highlights of the entire week.
Second in the Dewhurst Stakes behind City Of Troy at the end of last season, the Owen Burrows-trained Alyanaabi ran well in the 2000 Guineas to finish fifth at Newmarket and he’s 12/1 with some bookmakers to land this prize on Tuesday afternoon at 3:45pm.
