It’s a busy Wednesday of racing with six meetings spread across the UK and Ireland and our Racing Editor has aimed to simplify the action by identifying three fascinating runners across the cards. Check these out below, along with a new customer sign-up at Betfred, who are offering a Bet £10 – Get £60 In Free Bets Bonus.
SAY YOU SAY ME – (2:30 Worcester, Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race)
Gordon Elliott has sent out an incredible six winners from his last ten runners, and he’s a perfect 2-2 with his runners at Worcester in the last five seasons. His sole runner on Wednesday’s seven-race card comes in the mares’ bumper, where he unleashes newcomer SAY YOU SAY ME.
This Flemensfirth mare has an impeccable pedigree, being a half-sister to the 2021 Mares’ Hurdle winner Black Tears, and she was picked up for €155,000 at the sales back in August 2020.
Running in the silks of Mrs Paul Shanahan & Mrs John Magnier, Say You Say Me is interestingly started off at Worcester on Wednesday with Sean Bowen booked to do the steering. It’s interesting to see how the market reacts to Say You Say Me on debut, but given the recent form of her stable, and record at the track, it would be no shock to see her well found in the betting.

THE ANTARCTIC – (5:10 Tipperary, Coolmore Ten Sovereigns Tipperary Stakes)
The Listed Tipperary Stakes headlines the track’s eight-race Wednesday card, and the race’s sponsors, Coolmore, attempt to land the contest with their very own exciting juvenile THE ANTARCTIC.
Aidan O’Brien’s colt was always likely to have plenty of eyes on him, being a 750,000 guineas yearling and a full brother to the top-class sprinter Battaash.
The grey was a course and distance winner on debut in April and supplemented that with success at Naas a month later. Sent off as short as 4/1 for the Norfolk at Royal Ascot just shy of a fortnight ago, The Antarctic could only finish seventh (albeit beaten less than 5l) having swerved left leaving the stalls and lugged to his left slightly when put under pressure.
He aims to put that showing behind him dropped to Listed level on Wednesday, with Ryan Moore once again booked to do the steering, and should he bring his A-game to the table expect him to be hard to beat in a race which has favoured market leaders in recent years (five of the last eight favourites have obliged).
SENTIMENTALITY – (5:30 Kempton, ‘The7Stars’ Irish EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes)
John & Thady Gosden began the post-Frankie Dettori era with a 6l Newmarket winner on Saturday, and the training pair enjoyed a 7/2 winner at Windsor on Monday. They aim to continue this run at Kempton on Wednesday with SENTIMENTALITY, who takes part in the opening contest on their seven-race evening card.
This daughter of Farhh was picked up for 170,000 guineas as a yearling and is a sister to 2019 Duke Of Cambridge winner Move Swiftly. She was sent off 11/2 for a Lingfield turf maiden on debut last month, and although only an 8l fourth there, the winner has since finished third in the Chesham and the second has won subsequently, so the form reads well.
Entitled to have learnt plenty from that initial experience, and somewhat interestingly related to a number of all-weather winners, it would be no shock to see her go close here in a race that the Gosden’s and Rab Havlin teamed up to land in 2019 with Cressida.
