Race 1 (1:50pm) CHIL CHIL
In Fine form last season, winning three of his last four starts last year, including a Class 2 at Newmarket last September. Returned from a long break, when second to Motagally at Bath, seventeen days ago and looks to have a big chance to grab another victory this afternoon. Backed in to clear leader on the market.
Race 2 (2:25pm) SHELIR
Won opening two starts for Dermot Weld, including the Tetrarch Stakes, but has not been able to find that form since, including four runs for new trainer, David O’Meara. Latest was an eighth in a Class 2 at Ascot, when finishing 4 lengths off the winner, although he was hampered on the run in. Needs to improve, but has the opportunity in an open race.
Alternative Selection: CAP FRANCAIS
Race 3 (3:00pm) AUSTRALIS
Both victories have come o the all-weather, including at Wolverhampton on seasonal return, when beating Caravan Of Hope by half a length in June and then a second at Newcastle three weeks later. Still yet to prove himself on turf, but Roger Varian has confidence here, as does the market too.
Race 4 (3:35pm) OMNIVEGA
Has improved hugely, since being gelded and has won the last three races (all-weather), beating Cepheus by half a length last time out at Kempton. Rises 5lbs for this race, which shouldn’t be an issue, but needs to replicate that all-weather form to turf. Solid hopes and well worth considering in a very tight contest
Alternative Selection: JEREMIAH
Race 5 (4:10pm) WISE GLORY
Winner at Leicester (good) in a Class 5 contest, before stepping up well to take the win at Newmarket (soft) last month, beating Spectrum Of Light by a head in a Class 3 contest. Stays at the 1m 4f for this race and is expected to battle it out with Grand Bazaar, with both looking to secure a three-timer.
Race 6 (3:35pm) BLUE DE VEGA
In solid form, before taking the spoils at Newmarket a fortnight ago, when beating race rival Han Solo Berger by a nose. Jockey Ray Dawson rides today and claims 5lbs, which could well make the difference. Strong hopes this afternoon.
Alternative Selection: BAY WATCH
