We caught up with one of the stars of the weighing room Harry Cobden in a fascinating four part interview filmed at Newbury racecourse.
In the opening part Harry talks about the sacrifices he’s had to make to reach where he is, what it’s like being a jockey at Christmas and his relationship with fellow Paul Nicholls stable jockey Bryony Frost.
In Part 2 of our chat with Harry he plays down the quad bike accident that nearly killed him when he was a teenager and whether he feels fear in his current job. Harry also mentions the day he ditched his English GCSE exam to ride at Leicester and how things worked out well for him.
In Part 3 of our chat Harry looked back to Boxing Day as he reflected on his decision to choose Cyrname over eventual winner Clan Des Obeaux in the King George. Harry then looks forward to the 2020 Cheltenham Festival as he nominates two under the radar horses to keep an eye on.
In the final part of our chat Harry talked about meetings with Sir Alex Ferguson yet his lack of passion for football. We also get an insight into the people and moments that inspired the young Harry Cobden as he reveals his all-time favourite race and his jockey to follow growing up.
