It’s the world’s greatest steeplechase and the 2024 Grand National is set to be another enthralling contest this year, as Corach Rambler looks to emulate the likes of Red Rum and Tiger Roll by winning back-to-back renewals of the Aintree marathon.
We take a look at the 2024 Grand National and provide all the vital must-know information for the race that lights up Merseyside and will see millions tune in and try and back the winner of the great race.
When Is The 2024 Grand National?
The 2024 Grand National will take place on Saturday 13th April at 4pm. Having been later in the day in previous years, the Grand National start time has been moved forward to 4pm for this year’s race.
How Many Runners Will Line Up?
In another change to the Grand National in 2024, there will only be 34 horses heading to the 4m 2f 74y start. Historically, 40 horses have lined up for the ultimate test of a racehorse, but new safety measures have been put in place for this year’s race and only 34 contenders will take their chance.
What Are The Latest Grand National Odds?
Fresh from finishing a fine third in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival, Lucinda Russell’s Corach Rambler is a clear favourite for the race, whilst another prominent figure in the odds is last year’s runner-up Vanillier, who is set for another crack at the race for Gavin Cromwell. A fine winner of the Irish Grand National last season, the Willie Mullins-trained I Am Maximus is set to try and land victory in the Irish equivalent, while the likes of Panda Boy and Mahler Mission are another brace of runners at the forefront of the 2024 Grand National Odds.
