When is the Cheltenham Festival 2026? Dates, times & race schedule

The National Hunt season revolves around the Cheltenham Festival. It is the biggest jumps meeting of them all and is fast approaching in March.

The Festival takes place across four fabulous days in the spring. We detail which days the Cheltenham Festival 2026 takes place below, as well as outlining the exact start times of every single race on the schedule between Tuesday and Friday.

When does the 2026 Cheltenham Festival start?

The 2026 Cheltenham Festival kicks off on Tuesday 10 March. The opening day features the Champion Hurdle at 4pm, while the day begins with the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at 1.20pm.

After the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle gets the meeting underway, 28 races take place before the Martin Pipe concludes at 5.20pm on Friday 13 March.

Gates open every day at 10.30 am. This gives attendees three hours to arrive after gates have opened before the first race begins.
