The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is Europe’s most prestigious race, and the countdown to the 2024 renewal is gathering pace. This year’s race will take place on Sunday, 6th October 2024, making it one of the latest runnings in recent seasons. The festival in which the Arc takes place runs over the weekend of the 5th and 6th.
Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Time 2024
The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe gets underway at 3.05pm GMT, or 4.05pm local time. The card on Sunday features no fewer than six Group 1s, with the first of those getting underway at 1.15pm GMT (2.15pm local time). The last race concludes a little under five hours later at 6pm, although Saturday’s racing begins at 12.23 pm GMT, and ends at 5.50pm.

An unbeaten Prix du Jockey Club (French Derby) winner won the race in supreme fashion a year ago and Look De Vega is favourite to follow in Ace Impact’s shoes after winning that Classic in impressive style back in June. Carlos and Lann Yerner’s charge has only raced three times, but is brimming with potential, with fellow French runner Sosie second in the betting, improving to win a Group 1 since finishing third in the Prix du Jockey Club.
Joseph O’Brien’s Al Riffa is the shortest-priced of the potential Irish contingent, though it does not look set to be a successful year for the Brits, with Godolphin’s Arabian Crown, not seen since April, the most fancied of their challengers at a current best price of 33/1.
