The Grand National is a spectacle that brings in virtually everyone to the sport of Horse Racing. Friends and family who rarely ever watch racing will sit around the TV to watch the feature race in the calendar.
People will often picking out a horse in the National by name, colour of the silks or even their lucky number. But how about their star sign?
Celebrity astrologer Inbaal Honigman has delved into the history of the race, and with the help of the stars has predicted which horse you should be backing to win this year’s Grand National.
SPOILER – it’s one at BIG ODDS!
Research was about Grand National Betting.

Escaria Ten, currently a 66/1 outsider in the Grand National, was handed a huge boost of Aintree glory as star signs Cancer and Taurus are the most successful in the race since 1981, matching jockey AP Heskin’s Taurus zodiac.
According to new research about Grand National Betting, a jockey with the star sign Cancer or Taurus has won the prestigious Aintree race on six occasions each, more than any other zodiac.
AP Heskin’s 22nd April birthday makes him a Taurus and means he has history and the stars on his side on Saturday when he lines up in the Grand National on Escaria Ten.
Other horses that are fortunate enough to be paired with a Cancer or Taurus include the 13/2 favourite Corach Rambler, who is partnered by Taurus Derek Fox.
20/1 shot Galvin will be ridden by Davy Russell (Cancer), while Rachael Blackmore and 20/1 Ain’t That a Shame are also handed a boost.
Dunboyne and Darasso are 50/1 to win the race and could be attractive to punters that follow the stars due to their Taurus and Cancer jockey booking, Jack Tudor (Dunboyne) and LP Dempsey (Darasso).
Pisces and Scorpios have the worst form in the race with just one win each since 1981. This is a blow for 33/1 shot Coko Beach, who is ridden by Scorpio Harry Cobden. Cape Gentleman is a huge outsider at 100/1 and is paired by Scorpio Jody McGarvey, making his chances even slimmer.
Celebrity astrologer Inbaal Honigman revealed that it is no surprise that Cancer and Taurus are often seen in the winners enclosure due to their affinity with animals and says Cancerians will be handed extra determination this Saturday.

‘Determination and power’ will be with animal-loving Cancer athletes on Grand National day
“It’s clearly important to have a lovely bond between jockey and horse, and Cancer-born people are great animal lovers. Taurus-born athletes are similarly drawn to the animal kingdom.
“On Saturday, 15 April 2023, there are a couple of signs that are luckier than others. The sign of Cancer is visited by the planet Mars on that day. It is a planet of determination and power. Cancerians, which are usually a very quiet sign, will be driven and motivated to win, so it’s a particularly favourable day for a Cancer competing in an event.
“Winning jockeys have to be calm of body and mind, and not allow themselves to get overwhelmed by the occasion. It is no surprise that the two calmest signs in the Zodiac, Cancer and Taurus, have won more Grand Nationals than any other sign. Both are very empathetic star signs that don’t really worry about winning, but rather about being excellent.”
Inbaal also reveals Aries will be in for some goood fortune, a boost for Any Second Now (14/1), Lifetime Ambition (25/1) and Velvet Elvis (40/1), who will all be ridden by an Aries
Aries will be boosted by luck and generosity
“Aries will be successful on the day too – as it is visited by Jupiter, planet of luck and generosity. Aries is a strong and athletic sign and is used to winning, so it’s coming in with a powerful attitude.
“This Grand National 2023 occurs on a very positive day in the astrological calendar. The main signs of the day are athletic Aries, powerful Taurus, competitive Gemini and calm Cancer. The race and the entire celebration around it will be peaceful and welcoming.”
