Stratford Racing Tips (Monday 9 March 2026)
Seven races take place at Stratford on Monday and Andrew’s two picks run in the 2.50pm and 3.20pm races, respectively.
2.50 Stratford – Xcitations (1pt win – 7/2 Sky Bet, Paddy Power)
Front-runner Xcitations ran well when we were on at Leicester last time, finishing one length back in second place and trading short in running (2.28 from a Betfair SP of 4.33). Pam Sly’s veteran was having his second start of the season that day and tends to come good once he’s had at least one outing. He won third time out in the 2020/21 jumps season, third and fourth time out in 2021/22, second and third time out in 2022/23, second time out in 2023/24 and at the fourth time of asking last term. Jack Andrews’ mount has yet to race here but his form at Fakenham suggests this sharp left-handed track won’t be an issue and his forcing style will be an asset.
3.20 Stratford – Comanche Magic (1pt e/w – 11/2 generally with the firms paying four places)
Let It Rain will be popular to bounce back from his William Hill Hurdle flop at Newbury now that he drops in grade but his patient running style is rarely helpful round here and the ground might still be slower than he prefers. I’d rather side with Comanche Magic, impressive from the front at Catterick last time. Stuart Edmunds six-year-old was opening his account on his third run for his current yard after leaving Ireland and clearly appreciated front-running tactics and the cut back to 2m after racing keenly/failing to last home over 2m3f/2m4f on his first two runs for current connections.
