1000 Guineas Tips, Odds, Racecard & Trends 2026: O'Brien to dominate fillies' Classic at Newmarket

A bumper field of top class fillies will assemble at Newmarket for the Group 1 1000 Guineas at 3.35pm on Sunday afternoon. Aidan O’Brien holds a strong hand at the head of the betting with hot favourite Precise looking to cement her place as the leading three-year-old filly.

However, our tipster Steve Chambers takes on the multiple Group winner with a stablemate, as he picks out his 1-2-3 for the event. We also look at the runners and key trends for the race, as we try to help you find the winner.

Wins in the Moyglare Stud Stakes and Fillies’ Mile in the second half of last season propelled Precise into the upper echelons of the juvenile division. She’s now set for reappearance and she will be the primary shot fired by Aidan O’Brien’s gun. The Ballydoyle supremo has trained the winner seven times in this race, but not since 2021, so he will be eager to get back into the winner’s enclosure.

True Love is another classy filly for the O’Brien team and she showed when winning the Cheveley Park Stakes last season that she is a talented performer. Things didn’t go her way at the Breeders’ Cup, but she bounced back to form with a Group 3 win at Leopardstown last month.

Karl Burke bids for a first win in this race and he will saddle Venetian Sun. The Prix Morny winner could only finish third to Precise in the Moyglare, so needs to improve on that. Andre Fabre won this in 2014 with Miss France and he saddles Miss Highness, who adds a real bit of European quality to the contest.

Second in the Rockfel Stakes,The Prettiest Star returns to Newmarket for Ed Walker, whilst the likes of Evolutionist, Inis Mor and Touleen add more depth to the wide open contest.

2026 1000 Guineas Tips

Aidan O’Brien appears to have a really strong chance of landing the 1000 Guineas on Sunday. All eyes will be on hot favourite Precise, but True Love can claim the prize. Both have really strong claims, but True Love has the benefit of a run this season and that could prove crucial in the closing stages. She may just be able to outbattle her stablemate in the closing stages. Precise can grab second place, whilst Miss Highness can land this position for France.
