KENTUCKY ROSE – Hamilton 2.00 0 0.5pt e/w (11/1 bet 365, 17/2 generally)

KENTUCKY ROSE very much caught the eye in a 7f handicap on soft ground at Haydock back on June 8th, despite only finishing eighth of the nine runners. Challenging wide was the key to success on the round course that day and she did well to finish about three lengths behind the winner after taking the inside route over a trip that stretches her. She’s run three creditable races in defeat since and raced closest to the ‘dead’ rail when fourth of six over course and distance last time. Third-placed Elegant Erin, who also raced closer to the rail than ideal, came out and won at Beverley next time. Apart from the two runs described above, Kentucky Rose has only had one other run on officially good to soft or softer going, scoring at Ayr last summer. She looks well drawn down the centre in stall 4 today and can be supported each-way.
