Top Tipster Andrew Mount makes his picks for Sunday’s racing with two selections from Yarmouth and The Curragh.
YARMOUTH 4.09
MUSTAZEED – 1.5ptw win (2-1 bet365, 7/4 generally)
Chris Wall has hit form in the past few days and MUSTAZEED looks very interesting on his second start back after a break. He returned from 329 days off the track to finish a respectable 11th of 19 at Newbury last time – beaten by just over three lengths – and in the last 15 years the yard is 65 from 340 (19.1% strike-rate) with horses on their second run back after a break of at last 150 days (provided that second run takes place within 90 days) and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £47.47. The strike-rate improves to 27.3% (12 from 44) at Yarmouth only for a profit of £22.45.
CURRAGH 4.15
MAZE RUNNER – 0.5pt e/w (20-1 bet365, 18-1 generally)
MAZE RUNNER rarely runs a bad race give a big field/strong pace scenario and also has a good record in the autumn, recording form figures on the Flay in September/October, since stepped up beyond 1m, of 2134 (1-4). His two runs here have seen him run third of 30 in this race last year (when it was run in October and worth a lot less money) and win by five and a half lengths in a handicap in June. The son of Authorized seems better than ever at the age of seven, finding only Echoes In Rain (7-1 second favourite today) too good in a 2m1f handicap at Galway last time and the two-month break can be viewed positively, as his latest win came after a similar break.
