FANTASY KEEPER is 0-3 Fibresand but he’s yet to encounter his optimum 6f trip at Southwell. He was poorly drawn on the stands’ side when runner-up over 5f on his Fibresand debut last summer and couldn’t go the pace when a respectable fifth of 13 from stall 6 over the same trip on his next course outing (first three drawn 3, 1 and 2). A patient ride over 7f was no help on his latest Fibresand run in November of last year and he beat only one home. Four of his five career wins have come over today’s 6f trip and he did well to finish fifth of 12 at Newcastle last time as he was drawn widest of all in stall 1 (first three drawn 12, 11 and 9). The application of first-time blinkers and eyeshields could bring about improvement.
