Andrew Mount's Best Bets - Sunday, October 31

Top tipster Andrew Mount has two bets at Carlisle and Naas (7.30am inspection) on Sunday

EARLS – 1.35 Naas

EARLS has only seventh of 17 when I recommended him as an each-way bet at the Curragh last week but wasn’t beaten far and had what turned out to be a difficult high draw in a race not run to suit. There should be more pace on today, he won this race off a similar mark last year and the ground turning heavy (there’s an inspection at 7.30am) is just what he needs. He caught the eye from a poor high draw when fourth of 23 at the Curragh on his penultimate start and this is his time of year.

CAPTAIN ZEBO – 2.35 Carlisle

CAPTAIN ZEBO is very lightly raced for a none-year-old and is clearly fragile but has form figures for current trainer John Dixon of 111116 (5-6), including a four-from-four haul at Carlisle. The step up too Grade 2 company proved beyond him when 14-1 on good ground at Sandown in the spring and he can bounce back today.

Today’s Best Bets

Earls – 1pt each-way – 1.35 Naas (7-1 generally)

Captain Zebo – 1pt win – 2.35 Carlisle (11-2 generally)
